Select a Date for 2022 Zone Convention

Hi everyone, Phil and I have had our heads together sorting out the Zone Convention. We need the club to decide on a number things so we will be giving you polls over the coming weeks to get the answers we need.

The first poll relates to the dates: click on the link below for a quick video that will give you the options. Then go to the club’s Facebook and made a choice. Most vote wins… So have your say. If you don’t have Facebook, then email your choice to us at mail@2022zoneconvention.com

Choices are: 14- 15 May 2022 or 21-22 May 2022.

Clarification of Patterns Definition-for 2021 February Comp and Individual Zone Set Subject

FEBRUARY 10TH CLOSING DATE EXTENDED…… TO FEB 17TH

At last nights meeting a question was raised in regards to the follow February / Patterns” and is for monochrome images. “Patterns” is defined as an arrangement of subjects, shapes or colour which is interesting or aesthetically pleasing to the eye. This is the outcome after contacting 2021 Zone organising Club.

Monochrome image and the Monochrome Definition is applied first. Monochrome Definition: An image is considered to be Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no colour (i.e. contains only shades of grey which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of being a greyscale image that has been toned in one colour across the entire image. (For example by sepia, red, gold, etc.) A greyscale or multi-coloured image modified or giving the impression of having been modified by partial toning, multi toning or by the inclusion of spot colouring does not meet the definition of monochrome and shall be classified as a colour work.

“Patterns” is defined as an arrangement of subjects, shapes or colour which is interesting or aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

By arranging and photographing subjects which are bright in colour and items of various shapes it adds varied tonal range and depth to your image. I have included below images of black and white subjects taken in colour and monochrome mode. Also bright coloured items and shapes which shows the varied tonal range when you include coloured items.
